Oil on panel. Signed in the lower left corner by Adolfo del Águila y Pimentel. (Jerez de la Fra., Circa 1830 – Circa 1895).

Adolfo del Águila and Pimentel. (Jerez de la Fra., Circa 1830 - Circa 1895) Active painter in Jerez and Cádiz. Father of the painters Adolfo and Luis del Águila y Acosta. He was a professor of Drawing and Adornment at the Casino de Artesanos e Industriales de Jerez. He cultivated portrait painting, genre paintings, still lifes and flowers, doing many of his works in pastel. He participated in the Jerez exhibitions in 1858 with A pastel portrait obtaining an honorable mention and in 1862 with three portraits (one of them in pastel) obtaining a bronze medal.
