Delicate Chinese fan from the 19th century, which responds to the type known as "fan of the Thousand Faces".

The rods are made of carefully carved sandalwood, both the central and the exterior. In them it is possible to contemplate human figures and floral motifs combined in different scenes.

The paper of the fan is painted by hand, and on both sides it shows Chinese customs scenes. The faces of the characters depicted on the paper are made of bone, precisely cut and painted by hand with a single bristle brush. The features are represented with very fine lines that mark the eyes and mouths, in black and red colors, and they show vivid and lifelike expressions, incredibly animated and joyful.

Measurements (open): 52 cm. wide and 29 cm. High.

It comes in a double-sided glazed frame. Measures 60 x 38 cm.
